Last updated Thursday 5th November 2009Hi, and a very warm welcome to my website
My name is Roger, and I live in a small vllage in North Lincolnshire. I'm also known as Lincsbirder so that's why I chose the name for the site.
I have been a bird watcher for over thirty years but more recently, just over three years ago in fact I started to photograph what I saw.
Much of my photography is done on my local patch Messingham nature reserve in North Lincolnshire. Messingham is run by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and is an excellent reserve. I do visit most of the other local reserves now and again and also make trips further afield when time and weather conditions allow.
Although I started off photographing birds, dragonflies, damselflies and butterflies have become favourite subjects as well. I tend to take more bird photographs during the autumn and winter months, switching to the insects during late spring and summer.
I am always careful to keep any disturbance to the birds and other wildlife to a minimum in my mission to get a photograph. You won't see any nest photographs on this site unless they can be photographed from a public right of way with no disturbance to the birds.
I regard myself as a keen amateur photographer and I'm always trying to improve on my techniques and skills.
I recommend viewing the photos via the slide show.
This will allow you to see the photographs at maximum size and detail. Just press F11 on your keyboard once the slide show window opens. This will give you a full screen view, to revert back to your normal screen press F11 again. Clicking a second time on a photograph when not in the slide show will also show a larger version in most cases.I use the following equipmentCanon 400D and 40D camera bodies.
Canon 400mm F5.6L USM lens.
Sigma 50-500mm F6.3 zoom lens.
Sigma 150mm F2.8 macro lens.
